Pilgrim Lutheran School has successfully conducted a hybrid model of learning since August 2020. Numerous safety measures have been implemented as outlined by the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
These safety measures include:
- Social distancing
- Desk barriers
- Temperature checks
- HEPA air filtration devices
- Regular electro-static cleaning
- Regular outdoor mask and exercise breaks
- Multiple entrances and exits
- Contact tracing
- Case monitoring
Pilgrim Early Childhood students in Pre-K through 1st grade have been learning in-person, five full days each week since the start of the 2020/2021 school year. Grades 2 and 4 have been learning in-person four days a week since the start of the school year, and grades 3, and 5-8 have been on a hybrid model of two days in-person and three days remote since the start of the school year. As of the first date of the 4th academic quarter on April 6th, all students who want four days of in-person learning have been in the building.
Five day in-person learning resumes at the start of the 2021/2022 school year.
