Mrs. Tighe serves as Pilgrim’s 4th and 5th grade teacher, and has taught at Pilgrim for over ten years. She loves to instill a joy for inquiry in her students and enjoys teaching 4th and 5th graders because they are flexible and uninhibited thinkers. One of the best parts of her job is helping her students discover how to build their own reading lives, which she hopes becomes a lifelong process for them.
Mrs. Tighe received her B.S. in Education from Northwestern University, where she also met her husband of over thirty-five years. They are the proud parents of a son, Joey, as well as a daughter, Anna, who attended Pilgrim Lutheran School from kindergarten through eighth grade. When she is not serving as Pilgrim’s 4th and 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Tighe enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and walking her dog.
