Service Projects: Building a Better World

About Our Projects

At Pilgrim Lutheran School, we believe in shaping compassionate and conscientious citizens of the world. Our students actively engage in service learning projects at every grade level, fostering a sense of empathy and instilling the importance of giving back to our community.
With our focus on service learning, your child will develop not only academically but also personally. They will grow into individuals who understand the value of helping others and making a positive impact on society.

Making a Difference Through Service

Service Learning Initiatives

Beyond just participation, students also learn about the life circumstances of people they’re serving. We’ve been blessed to have representatives from our partner charities – and even some individuals whose lives have been touched by these organizations – visit Pilgrim to speak during student chapel services. These direct connections lead to greater understanding and a desire to contribute to the creation of a better world!

Service learning is ingrained in our curriculum, teaching children the values of compassion and responsibility. Over the past year, our students have been actively-involved in a variety of projects, including:

Collecting donations for the Common Pantry and the Friendship Center

Making lunches and creating “care kits” for The Night Ministry

Raising money and purchasing necessities for residents of the Cornerstone Community Outreach women’s shelter

Visiting Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for malnourished individuals around the globe
Helping stock the pantries of refugee families sponsored by Pilgri
